Dry skin is such a dulling topic, so to avoid discussing it and especially dealing with it any further this season, make sure you’re using moisture-enhancing products.
Ideally, your skincare routine should shift from the one you were using this past summer, however, if you have tried-and-trues that you can’t all out abandon, then start swapping in products that are more gentle and mild, at least a few times a week, to up your moisture levels.
Here are my four favorite products that stop dryness in its tracks.
- Clean and nourish you skin with a cold cream.
Increase the moisture in your skin with this super lush and deep cleansing cream. It helps to smooth while leaving it with a beautiful and very visible glow.
I love this cream and adore the way it feels on my skin—very rich and enveloping, but extremely gently. I massage it onto my face and then wipe it off with a dry washcloth. Then I’ll go one more round, by applying more of this cream, letting it sit for 3-5 minutes, and wiping it off with a dry wash cloth.
- Hydrate more with a toner.
I’m not too partial when it comes to toners, so choose one that you love and works for you. My favorite is the Vitamin C Toner from Arbonne. Toners are great for infusing more moisture into your skin. This Arbonne one brightens my skin while it hydrates. I’d definitely encourage you to use an organic or a botanical one for best results.
- Exfoliate with a liquid exfoliant.
This photo shows my well-used Mandelic Acid product from Aesthetics by Bernadette (http://www.aestheticsbybernadette.com/). Chemical exfoliants are great for the winter as physical exfoliants—those with grains or beads—can be a bit harsh and sometimes leave the skin feeling raw. This mandelic acid treatment is liquid and helps to not only provide a gentle exfoliation for the skin, but targets hyperpigmentation too. Best to use this and other exfoliating products at night.
- Moisturize moisturize moisturize with an overnight cream.
It’s hard for your face to overdose on too much moisture, so keep it thoroughly quenched. Some months back, Sephora was giving away the Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb as samples. Every time I went into Sephora, I kept opting for this moisturizer and I finally broke down and bought my own. I love it! It’s like liquid magic, ultra light and super moisturizing.
